The Way It Has Before

all the flaws
countless but few
showing like sunlight
through the cracks in the clouds
after a rainstorm
a rainstorm alright
one of confusion
my feelings pouring down
on already soiled ground
Pounding and splattering
my weakness all over
the pavement of the walkway
of common sense
my weakness somehow
had been justified
somewhere along the way
but it felt alright
because i know
my weakness
only tells the world
how i really am-
as the raindrops beat truth
down onto their heads
soiling their hair and clothes
and forcing them
to take the time to realize
that i can make it
and that not everything
has to end
the way it has before
